I had a blast, but it's time to quit touch rugby. If this marathon goes well this weekend--and by "go well," I mean that I finish it and don't suffer any painful or disfiguring injuries as a result--I plan to keep up with distance running. And when you run slow like molasses, covering distance takes time and I just cannot do that and rugby both.My team, the Alabang Angels, finished the "season" with a great effort last Saturday where we only lost one game (and for the first half of that we even kept our old nemesis the Nomads to a draw). It was our best playing yet. We joined with the Alabang Eagles to bring home first prize in the mixed division, too. What a day! It's been a great time, ladies, and I wish everyone the best of luck on the pitch! Thanks especially to captain Chris Wright and coach Grant Rice, the two who "brought our level of play from here (imagine Grant's hand at ground level) to here (up to his shoulder)." You're the king of inspirational speeches, Grant. We love ya.
