Is the circus in town? No, that's just the tent for Groton's graduation. If it's over the top (the big top, that is), then you can imagine how the rest of the ceremony is. And after graduation is all over, chairs and tables gone, the tent is a great stand in for day care--just bring your kids to the circle and run around in it. Below Jack Q. throws his orange wiffle ball up the canvas, and I cannot help but think that he learned this trick from Groton's boys playing their unique game of roof ball at the fives courts. Monkey see, monkey do.

He's got a serious arm, though. And, as one can see below, a fair amount of charm. He can ham it up, lemme tell you. Here he's harassing his gorgeous mom, Laura, as we hung out on the circle like we owned the place.

Thanks to all my pals for taking care of me this weekend: Bert and Marci for letting me crash at their place and returning me to the airport; Laura for picking me up in Manchester; Cecile and Bodhi for throwing that fantastic Saturday night shindig (which didn't end until at least 2 am because that's one of Cecile's rules); and David and Lorayne for post-Prize Day lunch. To everyone else, thanks for making time for me. It was great to see you all. Now, it's your turn to come to our place. It's a bit more expensive to get to, but we'll make it worth your while.
