Was It Something I Said?

Within a few hours of my post on Mumbai below, a series of coordinated terrorist attacks began to target hotels, restaurants, and trains within the city. It's very odd to think that cafes I passed by and hotels I couldn't afford to stay at--but did stop by to have a drink in their bars--have been ripped apart by bombs and gunfire. Hostages have been taken. I hope it's nothing I said.

Okay, I don't mean to make light of this all--really. It's absolutely terrible, most especially because no matter what my criticisms of the city, everyone there was thoroughly nice to me, even the stray dogs. In order to somewhat counter the terrible images that are going to play throughout the media today, I'm going to give you a picture of me and that stray dog who wanted to come home with me. He was so sweet and well looked after (probably by folks on the street) that I was tempted. If you can judge a country by the quality of its stray dogs, India is top notch with me. Just keep this rule in mind, America: don't judge them by their religious fanatics and they won't judge us by ours.
