We Bought the Farm...No, Really

Yet one step closer to the Master Plan. We (sort of) own a half hectare farm in Cavite--an hour's drive from us and not far from the resort area of Tagaytay. I say we "sort of" own it because foreigners are not allowed to own land outright, so legally it is being owned in trust for us and we will have multiple legal contracts set up to protect us. For all intents and purposes, it is ours--though there are no end to the "landlord" jokes with our friend whose name is on the deed. All part of the territory, so to speak.

The land is beautiful and raw, and now Stephen has to go to work getting a well sunk, septic installed, a temporary nipa hut constructed, power installed, fencing, fruit trees planted, gravel driveway built, etc. Good thing we brought farmer Steve some overalls.
