Almost as if the universe were giving a nod to the old blackout days of Manila when the Oarhouse was born, the grand re-opening began dark. Three hours without light, music, and AC can really test a bar's worth, but the faithful showed up anyway--even if some of them remained "al fresco" on the stoop. (That says a lot, when the streets of Malate are the preferred ambiance.)
But then there was light...
...and the party really got started. The former mood of the bar was quite intimate, almost like we were camping with friends. As the electricity returned, so did the raucous enthusiasm of the masses as they streamed in the doors. Both settings fit my mood at each moment in time, as if somehow the Meralco power company was sensing my psychic energy and matching it with megahertz. Thanks again to those who made this possible. These are two of the new owner/managers, Reg Hernandez and Anabel Bosch. I don't have a picture of Redgie Cinco, but here's a shout out to him, nevertheless.
Anabel and I:
It was a fantastic night with old and new friends. Thanks to Ben Razon who took all these photos (and the ones on the previous post). Now (gulp!), I actually have to go back to work. Open up the salt mines, here I come.
